In 2008. That’s when I heard it – ‘You might have OCD’. Everything stopped in that moment and I let myself take that in. What I had been dealing with since high school has a name. I thought I would’ve been more prepared for that moment.
I was not. But I would soon research the mess out of ‘Obsessive Compulsive Disorder’. That is where my recovery began.
I moved to Virginia with bigger goals than the previous me could’ve truthfully imagined. I had direction, I felt purpose, I imagined a WIN.
Learning, reading, and listening to others share their stories of distress with this disorder helped me start my own recovery. A recovery process that is ongoing.
In 2016, I wrote down a goal. A goal to someday progress enough with this disorder to be able to help others. So I start here. I want to share the UGH moments and the good moments in my progress. That is why I started this blog. My name is Brent Peters and I am ecstatic to meet you here.
